February 2010
Hope everyone has been staying warm. I personally am about
tired of cold weather. I keep looking at my bike sitting in the
cold garage begging to be ridden. I hope I can remember how to
ride it since I haven't even sat on it since October.... or was that
September. I was complaining about all the rain we were having,
but have switched my griping to the ridiculously cold weather.
THAT DARN GLOBAL WARMING! Even Ray, who usually rides his bike to work
everyday has rarely ridden since December. It gives me a new
appreciation for living in the south. And confirms why I don't
live up north. While I admit the snow we had for a few hours was
beautiful, I would not want it for weeks at a time. Yep, I'll take
heat over freezing any day.
We got together with some of the Z staff to have a planning meeting in
Tallulah. Ray and I were in an accident on the way to the
mountains. Fortunately we were in the big truck so escaped unscathed
physically and the truck has a tiny ding in the bumper...well, if you
look closely you can see that the bumper has been pushed down a little.
The truck that rear ended us did not fair so well, he'll be spending a
lot of money on a new front end. We're happy someone with
insurance hit us.
We got a lot accomplished at our retreat/staff meeting. We've got
a full calendar for 2010. We planned one event or ride each month.
Anyone can call a ride or meet and eat at any time, so it affords us
lots of opportunities to hang out. Watch the website for updated
information.
We have a great staff and are very appreciative of them. They are
always there for us and others.
